Every blogger has a dream, to be present on every possible search engine, directory and having thousands of inbound links from other blogs. That is fine, as long as you know how to go about. On top of other things like SEO & keywords you must make sure that you ping to the most number of update services worldwide.

It is like telling a search engine “Hey, I’ve got something new”. Immediately after pinging you should see at least 7 – 8 visitors online. If you are using Wordpress and have a plugin like Wassup installed you should be able to find out the IP and name of service.

Finding and maintaining a list of correct URLs for pinging is an ongoing process as of today I have the following list to share with the world. If you have any other valuable URL other than those listed underneath, please do post it in comments. Internet is all about sharing! Do remember though that ping-o-matic URL is in itself a pinging service and pings thousands of other services.

A word of caution to all you aspiring e-marketers, please DO NOT over ping. Try to play it safe. If you do it every five minutes, there is a good chance that you get banned and kicked out from major search engines! Wordpress actually pings every time you post a new article as well as when you edit a page or post. This ‘Ping as you update’ thing can be fixed through a simple plugin available free from Maxblogpress. Do download this Ping Optimizer Plugin and install immediately before you actually copy the URLs listed here. What this plugin does is limit the number of pings to actual new posts. However, you have an option to do a forced ping, when you deem fit.
